About the race
The Marra Construction Tinman Triathlon is held in the greater Mount Maunganui area and in 2026 runs as a Tri NZ Suzuki National Series event and selection race for the World Triathlon Age Group Standard Triathlon Championships in Hamburg 2027. The event includes championship races, a para triathlon national championship, youth categories and a Splash'n'Dash for children.
Distances offered:
- Standard: Swim 1500m, Bike 40km non drafting, Run 10km
- Sprint U20: Swim 750m, Bike 20km drafting, Run 5km
- Para Tri: Swim 750m, Bike 20km non drafting, Run 5km
- Short Youth U17: Swim 300m, Bike 13km drafting, Run 3km
- Splash'n'Dash: Swim 100m, Run 1km
Course notes describe ocean swims with deep water or beach starts and mapped bike and run routes along The Mall, Adams Avenue and Marine Parade. Aid stations are on the run course and supply water and an electrolyte product; no gels or food items are provided on course. Transition and registration procedures are listed, with race packs collected at a pre-race registration session or early race-morning collection by arrangement. Entry fees vary by distance with additional One Day Membership requirements for some entries. Minimum ages apply by distance and refund, transfer and Covid cancellation policies are specified.
