About the race
The Mount Festival of Multisport is a multisport event held in Mount Maunganui / Tauranga with a programme of swim, bike and run races on and around the Mount base course. The festival includes the Loan Market Oceanside Tauranga Half, an AquaBike event presented by Strength Meals Co, and the Waitoa Mount Festival Half Marathon, with race formats ranging from ocean swims and aqua-bike races to half ironman and road running distances including sprint and Olympic distance triathlon options. The Tauranga Half has been staged in the same location since 1990 and is described as New Zealand’s longest running half ironman triathlon in the same location. The festival partners with a named official charity, Canteen Aotearoa, and lists a range of naming-right, silver and bronze partners and community supporters based in the Bay of Plenty and across New Zealand. Events for the 2027 festival are scheduled for 23 January 2027.
The course is centred on the iconic Mount base track in Mount Maunganui and uses local roads and coastal water for race segments.
