About the race
The Loan Market Oceanside Tauranga Half is a middle-distance triathlon in the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival of Multisport held on 23 January 2027. The race follows the half-iron distance format with a swim, bike and run and is run under Tri NZ rules. It is designated as the Tri NZ Middle Distance National Triathlon Championships and acts as a qualifier for the World Triathlon Multisport Championships in Edmonton.

Entries are accepted for individuals and teams. There are Pro/Elite, Open and Age Group categories; Pro and Elite competitors must meet published performance criteria and are eligible for prize money, while age-group competitors are eligible for age-group awards. Triathlon New Zealand membership is required; one-day memberships are available with entry.
The event offers entry inclusions such as a medal, a goody bag and a finish line experience. Prize money of NZ$26,500 is allocated across professional places with specified payouts for the top five male and female professionals. Age groups are in five-year bands from 18-19 through 80+. Post-race services include an athlete recovery lounge with water, nutrition, sponsor products and massage. The event also operates a Loyalty Club with benefits for long-term participants.
