Loan Market Oceanside Tauranga Half
The Loan Market Oceanside Tauranga Half is a long-course triathlon held as part of the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival of Multisport. The organiser describes the course as fast and flat and suitable for personal best attempts. The event also hosts the Tri NZ Middle Distance National Triathlon Championships and acts as a qualifier for the World Triathlon Multisport Championships in Edmonton.
The race distance is:
- 2 km swim
- 90 km bike
- 21.1 km run
Entries are available for individuals and teams. There are separate Pro/Elite, Open, and Age Group categories. Pro/Elite entry requires proof of target times (Men: sub 4.05, Women: sub 4.35). The Open category runs alongside the elite field and has its own time guidelines (Men: sub 4.20, Women: sub 4.50); Open entrants are not eligible for elite prize money and forfeit age-group awards. The event is run under Triathlon New Zealand rules and age is calculated as at 31 December of the event year. Triathlon New Zealand membership is required; one-day memberships are available for purchase.
Prize money of NZD 26,500 is allocated to professional/elite placings, with payouts to the top five professional finishers in each gender; age-group competitors are not eligible for this prize money. Finishers’ medals and finisher certificates are provided, and an Athlete Recovery Lounge offers water, nutrition, sponsor products and massage.
