Timely Nonsense is a timed ultra event offering three duration options at Horner Park in Chicago. Runners complete repeated laps of a 0.97 mile paved loop that circles the 58-acre park at California and Montrose. The loop is run counterclockwise and the course format includes hourly, short-form challenges announced at the top of each hour; past challenges have included rolling down a hill and using the playground slide.

The event provides a single aid station at the start/finish area stocked with typical ultra fare. A vendor at the park sells hot dogs, popsicles, sodas, and similar items. On-course facilities include a port-a-potty, and the park recreation center is open from 9am - 5pm on race day.

Team entries are available with options for two-person relay teams and four-person relay teams. Packet pick-up takes place at the starting line, located at the southwest corner of the park near the dog park, between 6:00am - 6:45am on race day.
