Event overview
Timely Nonsense is a timed ultra run in Chicago held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Horner Park. The event offers timed formats of 3 hours, 6 hours, and 12 hours. Team entries are available as two-person or four-person relay teams. At the top of every hour race staff give a short, optional challenge that runners may complete during that hour.
Course and logistics
The course is a paved loop around Horner Park, a 58-acre park at the intersection of California and Montrose. Loop length is reported as approximately 0.75 to 0.97 miles and the direction will be counter clockwise. There is one aid station at the start/finish with typical ultra food and drink. A vendor at the park will sell hot dogs, popsicles, and sodas. Bathroom facilities include a port-a-potty on course and the park recreation center, which will be open on race day.
