Timely Nonsense - Chicago, IL
Timely Nonsense is a timed urban ultra held in Chicago at Horner Park, a 58 acre park located at the intersection of California and Montrose. Runners complete repeated laps of a short paved loop around the park; the course is run in a counter clockwise direction.
The event offers timed options and relay teams:
- 3 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 12 hour timed event
Team entries are available as two person relay teams or four person relay teams. There is one aid station at the start and finish area stocked with typical ultra fare. A food vendor at the park will offer items such as hot dogs, popsicles, and sodas.
Course amenities include a port a potty on course and access to the park recreation center on race day. Packet pick up is located at the starting line near the southwest corner of the park by the dog park.
At the top of every hour, a new challenge is announced for runners to complete during that hour. Past challenges have included rolling down the hill and using the playground slide, indicating informal, playful elements integrated into each hour of the timed events.
