Timely Nonsense is a timed ultra held in Chicago on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The event offers the following options:

Team entries are available, including 2-person and 4-person relay options. Registration closes on September 1. The organizer promotes inclusivity by offering a number of free entries for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ athletes and by accepting each entrant’s declared gender at face value.

Course and logistics

The race takes place on a paved loop of about one mile around a 58-acre park at California and Montrose (Horner Park / 2741 W. Montrose), run counter clockwise. There is one aid station at the start/finish area stocked with typical ultra fare, and a vendor on site selling hot dogs, popsicles, and drinks. At the top of each hour the race director issues an optional challenge that runners may complete during that hour. Facilities include a port-a-potty on course and the park recreation center open to participants on race day. Packet pick-up is at the starting area on race morning.
