Thursley Common 10km

This is a guided group trail run in Thursley, Surrey. The route covers 10 km through the Thursley National Nature Reserve. The event fee is £16 per person and a car park is available. Terms and conditions apply.

The reserve covers 325 hectares and contains open dry heathland, peat bogs, pine and deciduous woodlands. The area has open ponds that support around 20 species of dragonflies and damselflies and a variety of birds, including Dartford warblers, stone chats, long-tailed tits, gold crests, red starts, white throats and wheatears.

The run is described as the flattest offered by the organiser and is aimed at those new to trail running. The route includes a boardwalk that has been recognised as Britain’s Favourite Path. The event is run as a group rather than a race; participants should be able to comfortably maintain an average pace of 10 min/miles | 6 min/km for prolonged periods on trail and have a suitable level of fitness.

A full kit list will be provided before the event. Head torches from Silva are available for evening runs and Salomon trail shoes can be trialled. The organiser partners with an alcohol-free beer brand and may provide a drink at the end of the run, subject to availability. Thursley is accessed just off the A3. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
