Thursley Common 10km

Thursley Common 10km is a guided group trail run organised by Running Adventures, based in Guildford, Surrey. Events are scheduled in February 2026 and July 2026. The route distance is 10 km. The advertised entry fee is £16 per person and tickets are currently sold out. The run is not a race and participants run together as a group.

Course, wildlife and logistics

The route explores Thursley National Nature Reserve, a 325-hectare area of heathland with open dry heath, peat bogs, pine and deciduous woodland. The reserve supports around 20 species of dragonflies and damselflies around its ponds and a variety of birds, including Dartford warblers, stonechats, long-tailed tits, goldcrests, redstarts, whitethroats and wheatears. The course is described as the flattest offering from the organiser and includes a boardwalk that has been named 'Britain's Favourite Path'.

Practical notes from the organiser: a car park is available, a full kit list will be provided before the run, and headtorches are used for night runs. Salomon trail shoes are available to test and Silva headtorches are provided for evening runs. Participants are asked to be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 min per mile on trail. An alcohol-free beer from Athletic Brewing Company may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
