Event overview
The Thursley Common 10km is a guided trail run meeting in Thursley, Surrey on 25 February 2026 and 7 July 2026. The advertised distance is 10 km and the listed cost is £16 per person. A car park is available at the meeting location. The organiser describes the run as suitable for people new to trail running and for runners who prefer to run together in a group rather than race.
Route and practical information
The route takes place on Thursley National Nature Reserve, a 325-hectare area of heathland, peat bog, pine and deciduous woodland. The reserve contains open ponds that support around 20 species of dragonflies and damselflies and a variety of bird species. The route includes a boardwalk that has been awarded the title "Britain's Favourite Path". The organiser offers both sunset runs (in lighter months) and night runs (in darker months) with headtorches in a group setting.
Participants are asked to be able to maintain an average pace of about 10 min/mile | 6 min/km on trail for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided before the event. Silva head torches are available to trial for evening runs, and Salomon trail shoes may be available to test. The run is led by an experienced guide who is a qualified mountain leader and coach and is an ambassador for Salomon and Suunto. A complimentary alcohol-free beer may be offered at the finish, subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
