The Threshold 10K Test
The Threshold 10K Test is an evening running event held in Battersea Park, London. Organized by Best Athletics, the race takes place on a flat and fast course designed for participants pursuing personal records. The route is UKA-approved and consists of multiple laps within the park grounds.
The event features a single distance:
- 10 km (4 loops)
The course starts and finishes at the park bandstand, with the route circling the Boating Lake. The path is marked with kilometer signs and is fully marshalled for safety. Participants must be at least 15 years old to enter.
On-site facilities include an event headquarters near the bandstand for race pack collection, as a postal service is not provided. A secure bag drop area is available for runners. Water stations and Science in Sport gels are positioned at the 2.5 km mark of the course. Public toilets are located within Battersea Park, approximately a five-minute walk from the start area.
The event provides electronic timing, and results are published on the RunBritain page following the race. Participants receive finisher goodies, a pair of socks, and access to professional event photography. While standard headphones are not recommended, bone conduction headphones are permitted.
Battersea Park is accessible via public transport, with Battersea Park Railway Station located a 10-minute walk from the bandstand. Bus services also run from Vauxhall Railway Station. Paid public parking is available but limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
