Event overview
The Thurlstone Chase is a BS category fell race held on 9 July 2026. The course distance is 4.2 miles / 6.75 km with 500 ft / 150 m of ascent. The event runs under licence from the Fell Runners Association and will have a permit with UK Athletics insurance. Minimum age to enter is 16 on the day; competitors under 18 who are not accompanied by a parent or guardian must provide a parental consent form.
Registration, and the race start and finish, are at Thurlstone Football Club, High Bank Lane, Thurlstone (grid ref SE226036, postcode S36 9PS). Car parking is available in the start field. Pre-entry will be available in January 2026 and entry on the day is also offered.
Results and prizes
Prizes are awarded to the first three men and first three women, then to the first in each five-year age category from V40 through V85. Course records are listed for the previous course (2003–2019) and the current course (2021 onwards); current course record times are 25:04 for men and 26:56 for women. A £25 cash prize is offered to the first male and first female who break the course record. Results from past years are maintained by the organisers.
