Thumbs Up Run/Walk/Bike Event - 13th Annual
The 13th Annual Thumbs Up Run Walk Bike takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Lake Orono Park, 18599 Gary Street, Elk River, MN. The event is presented with support from a title sponsor and multiple local sponsors and partners.
Distances offered include:
- 5K Walk
- 5K Run
- 10K Run
- 5K Bike
- 10K Bike
- Youth Color Run (ages 3-5 1/2K; ages 6-8 1K; ages 9-12 1 mile)
Early packet pickup is scheduled on September 17 at Ripple Effect Brewing Company in Rogers, MN and on September 18 at Lake Orono Park. Virtual participant options are available and participants who register by August 23, 2026 are guaranteed race materials and a participant t-shirt where noted. Team registration by September 4, 2026 is required to guarantee a team sign along the 5K route. Standard registration periods and late registration dates apply; registration closes the day before the event.
Event amenities and activities include participant shirts, race bibs, finisher medals, water stations on course, food trucks, a memory tree, grief support and bereavement area, mental health and wellness vendors, a veteran memorial area, face painting, crazy hair, kindness rocks, mindfulness activities, playground access, and a splash pad subject to weather. Friendly dogs on leash are permitted and free parking is available at a nearby fairground parking lot.
