Event overview

Three Towers Ultra is an endurance running event on the West Pennine moors near Darwen, just south of Blackburn. The route visits three towers: Jubilee, Rivington and Peel. The course is unmarked and runs close to a military firing range, so participants are expected to keep to the path. The event is organised by Tough Trails Ltd and is scheduled for 19 September 2026. Venue is the Ranken Arms Pub.

Entries, fees and services

Entries open 21 October 2025 and close 28 August 2026. Entry fees are listed separately for UKA members and non-members for each distance. The event includes checkpoints with food and drinks, Mountain Fuel gels and snacks, GPS trackers, a finisher medal and a buff. Trail fees for National Trust and Natural England are covered and a donation is made to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

Safety and equipment

There will be a kit check and a kit list will be published before the event. The organiser notes that taped-seam jacket and trousers and a bivi bag will be required for the event. A guided recce will be organised. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
