Three Shires Way Ultra & Marathon - Race Harborough, 20 June 2026
The event comprises two point to point trail races through rural landscapes and ancient woodlands in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. Distances offered:
- 50 Mile Ultra
- Marathon
Both routes follow bridleways and are waymarked; the finish includes a 12.4 mile loop around Grafham Water. The 50 mile route has been extended from the 49 mile Three Shires Way to reach 50 miles with an added section to Hanslope village hall. The marathon route starts at Yelden and remains unchanged.
The 50 mile route includes a temporary diversion where the Three Shires Way between Clifton Reynes and Knotting is closed; the diverted route passes Newton Blossomville, Turvey, Carlton, Harrold-Odell Country Park, Odell and Souldrop before rejoining the Three Shires Way near Knotting. Amended GPX files are available for both races.
Entries are open with published entry fees for each distance and a club member discount. Minimum ages are 20 for the 50 mile race and 18 for the marathon. Race cut-off times are 14 hours for the 50 mile and 8 hours for the marathon with progressive checkpoint cut-offs. No pacers are permitted.
The event is TRA licensed and held under UKA rules. First aid support and race volunteers will staff aid stations. Mandatory kit includes a charged mobile phone, minimum 1 litre water, survival blanket, whistle, your own cup and other specified items for the 50 mile race. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race and all finishers receive an event medal. Parking at the finish is available at a reduced event rate and preordered race merchandise is available prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
