Foxton Hound Ultra

Foxton Hound Ultra is a pair of trail ultramarathons held on Saturday 15th August 2026 around Market Harborough. The races follow much of the Harborough Round, crossing parts of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and passing villages and landmarks such as Houghton on the Hill, West Haddon, Coton, Stoke Albany, Foxton Locks, the Naseby Battle Field and the Kelmarsh Tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way. Race headquarters, start and finish are at Winwick Hall, with parking available.

Distances:

  • 50k - a shorter route using parts of the Harborough Round.

Both races are licensed by the TRA and held under UKA rules. Entry fees listed are £75 for the 100k and £50 for the 50k, with a £2 discount for members of clubs affiliated to UK Athletics. Minimum age on race day is 20 years. The 100k has an 18 hour cut-off with progressive checkpoint cut-offs from Checkpoint 3; the 50k has a 9 hour cut-off at the finish. Pacers are permitted on the 100k from Checkpoint 5. Crews and spectators are not permitted in Cottesbrooke village or at the Elkington water station.

Routes are waymarked but participants are expected to self-navigate; GPX files and written instructions are provided. Free guided recces are offered.
