Foxton Hound Ultra

Foxton Hound Ultra offers two distance events that follow sections of the Harborough Round through the countryside and villages around Market Harborough. Race HQ, start and finish are at Winwick Hall, Winwick, Northants, NN6 7PD.

Both routes use parts of several long distance footpaths, including The Jurassic Way, The Leicestershire Round, The Macmillan Way, The Midshires Way, The Richard the Third Trail and The Uppingham Round. GPX files and written route instructions are available for both distances. Runners should be prepared to self-navigate if course tape or arrows are missing.

• 100k
• 50k

Both races are licensed by the TRA and held under UKA rules. Minimum age for entry is 20 years on race day. The 100k has an overall cut off of 18 hours with progressive checkpoint cut-offs from Checkpoint 3; the 50k has a 9 hour finish cut off and no checkpoint cut-offs. Pacers are allowed on the 100k from Checkpoint 5. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event.

On-course support includes professional first aid at HQ, volunteers at aid stations, seven checkpoints on the 100k (three on the 50k), and specified hot food and drinks at two checkpoints on the 100k. Tracking and timing are provided by Open Tracking; trackers are issued at registration and must be returned after the race. Mandatory kit is specified and includes a charged mobile phone, minimum 1 litre water container, survival blanket, head torch with spare batteries, waterproof jacket, whistle, long sleeved base layer or fleece, and a personal cup. Reflective top, hat and gloves are required for the 100k. Prizes include trophies for the top three male and female finishers and a medal for all finishers.
