Event Overview
The Foxton Hound Ultra offers two distances: a 100k and a 50k. Both routes follow the Harborough Round long-distance footpath through the countryside and villages around Market Harborough in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
The Course and Navigation
The routes pass places of historical interest, including Foxton Locks, the Naseby Battle Field, and the Kelmarsh Tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way. The courses intersect with several other long-distance footpaths. The routes will be marked, but runners are expected to be prepared for self-navigation. GPX files and written route instructions are available for download.
Event Support
There will be 7 checkpoints/aid stations on the 100k course and 3 on the 50k course. These provide hydration, nutrition, and snacks. Hot food and drinks are available at specific checkpoints on the 100k route. Professional first aid is present at the start and finish, with access to the course. The event offers free guided route recces before race day.
Rules and Requirements
The event is licensed by the TRA and held under UKA rules. The minimum age for entry is 20. There is an 18-hour cut-off for the 100k and a 9-hour cut-off for the 50k. Pacers are allowed, but only from a specific checkpoint on the 100k route. Crew and spectator access is restricted in certain locations. Entries close 7 days before the event.

Additional items are required for the 100k distance. Trail shoes are advised. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
