Event overview
The Foxton Hound Ultra takes place on Saturday, 15 August 2026 around Market Harborough. The event offers two distances:
- 100k
- 50k
The races follow the Harborough Round long-distance footpath through parts of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, passing villages and points of interest such as Foxton Locks, the Naseby battlefield and the Kelmarsh Tunnel. Both races are licensed by the TRA and held under UKA rules. Race HQ, start and finish are at Winwick Hall, Winwick, Northants NN6 7PD.
Entries, cut-offs and prizes
Entry fees are planned at £75 for the 100k and £50 for the 50k, with a £2 discount for runners in a UK Athletics affiliated club. Minimum age on race day is 20 years. The 100k has an overall cut-off of 18 hours and progressive cut-offs from Checkpoint 3; the 50k has a 9-hour finish cut-off and no checkpoint cut-offs. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both races and all finishers receive an event medal.
Route, support, navigation and mandatory kit
Routes use sections of several long-distance paths and include both climbs and downhill sections. GPX files and written route instructions are provided. There will be seven checkpoints/aid stations on the 100k (three on the 50k). Hot food and drinks are scheduled at Checkpoint 4 (Hallaton) and Checkpoint 7 (Sibbertoft) on the 100k. Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish and course volunteers will staff aid stations. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone; a water container (minimum 1 litre); survival blanket; head torch with spare batteries; waterproof jacket; whistle; long-sleeved base layer or fleece; a personal cup; reflective top/bands and hat and gloves for the 100k. Pacers are allowed on the 100k from Checkpoint 5. Free guided recces are offered before the race. Charity collection will support local foodbanks.
