The Viridian Daventry Triathlon
The Viridian Daventry Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held in Daventry, Northamptonshire. The event uses a 400 m pool swim at Daventry Leisure Centre, followed by a 20 km cycle through the surrounding countryside and a 5 km run around Daventry Country Park. Competitors may enter as individuals for the sprint distance or form a relay team of two or three members.
The event includes a finish-area road closure, and all finishers receive a t-shirt and a commemorative medal. Age-category prizes were updated for 2025. A club-level Viridian Gold Team invitational is run alongside the main race: for eligible clubs the fastest finishing times of three club entries are combined to determine the winning team; all individual finishing times are also recorded in the main sprint results.
Course records are noted for the sprint distance: the men's record of 55:04 set in 2015 and the women's record of 1:03:55 set in 2019. The race format and facilities indicate a pool swim start with road and park sections for the cycle and run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
