The Viridian Daventry Triathlon
The Viridian Daventry Triathlon is a sprint-distance event held at Daventry Leisure Centre and around Daventry Country Park. The swim takes place in a 400 m pool. The cycle section covers about 20 km on local roads through the Northamptonshire countryside. The run is a roughly 5 km route around Daventry Country Park.
Entries are available for individuals in the sprint distance and for relay teams of two or three members. Road closures will be in place for the finish area. All finishers receive a t-shirt and an iconic finisher medal. The organiser notes improved age-category prizes introduced in 2025.
A club-level Viridian Gold Team invitational competition is included; the fastest finishing times of three eligible club entries are added together to determine the overall winning team. Individual finishing times for all competitors are also recorded in the main sprint race results.
The event lists course records for the sprint distance: the men's record is 55:04 set in 2015, and the women's record is 1:03:55 set in 2019. Entry closes on 9 September 2026. The event is staged by Rugby Triathlon Club and uses local facilities and countryside roads for the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
