The Viridian Daventry Triathlon
The Viridian Daventry Triathlon is a sprint-distance multisport event organized by the Rugby Triathlon Club. The competition takes place in Northamptonshire and is centered around the Daventry Leisure Centre and surrounding natural areas. Participants can compete as individuals or as part of a relay team consisting of two or three members.
The event consists of three distinct segments:
- 400m swim: A pool-based section held at the Daventry Leisure Centre.
- 20km cycle: A route through the local Northamptonshire countryside.
- 5km run: A scenic course around Daventry Country Park.
The finish area features road closures to ensure a clear path for competitors. All participants who complete the course receive a t-shirt and a medal. The event also includes age category prizes and the Viridian Gold Team invitational competition, where the fastest combined times of three members from eligible clubs determine a winning team.
Records for the course are currently held at 55:04 for men and 1:03:55 for women. The event is located at postcode NN11 4FP and provides a structured environment for both those new to triathlon and experienced athletes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
