About the race
The Thornhill 10K is a community road event based at Thornhill Community Hall (FK8 3QB) offering a 10K and a 2.5K distance plus a virtual 10K option. The event donates £2 from each entry fee to its charity partner and raises further funds through on-site catering and optional donations at registration.
The 10K route is entirely on tarmac and is fully marked with large yellow signs; the 2.5K combines tarmac and path. Chip timing is used for all participants and race numbers with timing chips are posted in advance when possible. All finishers receive a medal, water is provided at the finish, and there are water stations on the 10K route at 5 km and 9 km. Medical cover and event marshals are positioned along the route.
Entry requirements include a minimum age of 15 for the 10K and 8 to run the 2.5K alone; younger children may run the 2.5K accompanied by an adult. Gender categories include male, female, non-binary, and other, with prize conditions dependent on minimum entry numbers. Dogs are not permitted.
