Thornhill 10K
The Thornhill event offers two measured runs around the Frews, organised by Tay Fitness Events to raise funds for Beatson Cancer Charity in memory of a local resident. The route passes the Wallace monument and provides views of the Munros to the north. The 10K route is entirely on tarmac; the 2.5K route mixes tarmac and path. Water stations are provided at 5 km and 9 km on the 10K and at 1 km on the 2.5K.
Distances:
- 10K
- 2.5K
Entry fees are stated as £28 for the 10K and £10 for the 2.5K, with £2 from each entry directed to the event charities. Every finisher receives a medal. Electronic chip timing is used; timing chips and race numbers are integrated and are typically posted to participants about two weeks before the event. Medical cover and marshals are placed on the route, and first aid is available at the event hub.
Age limits and participation rules are set: 10K entrants must be at least 15 years old, and 2.5K solo runners must be at least 8 years old; younger children may run with an adult. Dogs are not permitted. Prize awards follow minimum entry thresholds across four gender categories and several age groups. Parking is available in nearby fields and hot and cold catering is provided, with catering proceeds also supporting the charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
