Doonhamer 10K : Dock Park, Dumfries
The Doonhamer is a road race over 10 km organised by Dumfries Harriers and based at Dock Park beside the River Nith in Dumfries. The course follows riverside pathways and crosses the Nith several times via Buccleuch Street, Suspension and Kirkpatrick MacMillan bridges. The course is officially measured and certified and is mainly on footpath or pavement, with a short section on public road at Kingholm Quay.
The event is limited to 290 places and is listed as sold out. Entry fees were £18 for SA/EA/WA affiliated members and £20 for non-affiliated runners. Included services stated by the organiser comprise chip timing, an on-course water stop, first aid, kilometre markers, marshals, parking and toilet facilities. Every finisher receives a unique souvenir medal and a goody bag. Prizes are awarded for 1st to 3rd male and female and for male and female VET 40, VET 50, VET 60 and VET 70 categories.
Additional notes from the organiser state that technical event t-shirts were available to purchase at entry for £10 in unisex and female fits, sizes XS to XXXL. No entries on the day were allowed; transfers via Entry Central were permitted. In-ear or canal-type headphones are not allowed. An alternate route may be used if planned groundworks affect the primary course, and no refunds are offered if the alternate route is used.
