Doonhamer 10k 2026
The Doonhamer 10 km is a certified road race organised by Dumfries Harriers, held in Dock Park beside the River Nith in Dumfries on 30 August 2026. The course follows riverside paths and crosses the Nith several times via Buccleuch Street, Suspension and Kirkpatrick MacMillan bridges. The route is mostly on footpath or pavement with a short section on public road at Kingholm Quay.
Entry was limited to 290 places and the event is sold out. Races are operated under UK Athletics rules. Included with entry were chip timing, an on-course water stop, first aid provision, kilometre markers and marshals, plus car parking and toilet facilities. Every finisher receives a souvenir medal. Prizes are presented for 1st to 3rd male and female and for first place male and female in VET 40, VET 50, VET 60 and VET 70 categories.
A technical event T-shirt was available to pre-order at time of entry in unisex and female fits, sizes XS to XXXL; T-shirt selections could not be changed after entry. No entries on the day were accepted and transfers between participants were handled through the entry system. For competitor safety, “in ear” or can type headphones are not permitted. An alternate route may be used if groundworks affect the primary course and no refunds are offered in that case. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
