Dumfries Half Marathon
Dumfries Running Club stages the Dumfries Half Marathon on Sunday 20 September 2026 at The Crichton in Dumfries. The course is accurately measured and runs from Dumfries and Galloway College, follows roads with views of Criffel on the way to Glencaple, and returns to the college.
The race distance is 13.1 miles and the event uses chip timing. The route is marked with mile markers and is marshalled, with regular water stations. Entry includes a medal for all finishers and a comprehensive goody bag. There is a three hour time limit and only bone conducting headphones are permitted under UKA rules. A licence application for SAL permit status is pending.
Facilities listed for the event include ample car parking, toilet, shower and changing facilities, and pre and post race refreshments. Prize categories cover 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, 1st and 2nd male and female teams, and first male and female in 40, 50 and 60 age categories.
