Thirsty Thursday 5K - Defiance, MO
Thirsty Thursdays is a series of timed 5K pub runs sponsored by Good News Brewing and Fleet Feet St. Louis. Events are held one Thursday each month from April through October on the Katy Trail, starting at Good News Brewing in Defiance, Missouri. The course is an out-and-back on the Katy Trail and uses a professionally timed format.
The event uses an open start line to accommodate varied commute times and a low-stress check-in. All registrants aged 21 and older receive a complimentary beer from Good News Brewing after the run. Good News Brewing will offer extended bar hours and a pizza buffet available for purchase.
For 2026 the series introduced changes including no processing fees, a loyalty program, and age group categories added to the leaderboards. Event registration includes optional race swag available for purchase during sign-up. Timing, location on the Katy Trail, post-race beverage provision for participants 21 and older, and the monthly schedule from April through October are central features described for the series.
