Course and format
Competitors have 8.88 hours on the clock to complete as many loops as they can. The loop route crosses a river and runs through wooded trails with sustained heat and hills typical of the Atlanta area in August. Organizers state that crews and pacers are not required.

Chip timing is provided by a professional timing service with precise timing, real-time tracking, live lap counting, and split displays. Race prizes begin at the 25K mark, with additional options beyond the 50K distance. The organizer does not offer refunds, deferrals, or transfers.
Accessibility and inclusion
The event includes policies for athletes with disabilities: tethers may be used for visually impaired athletes, leg prosthetics are permitted, and crutches, braces, or poles may be allowed with organizer approval. The course is not suitable for athletes in wheelchairs. The organizer accepts entrants' declared gender and provides registration options for non-binary athletes.
