Christmas Star Run and Tree Lighting
The Christmas Star Run and Tree Lighting takes place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the Christian City campus in Union City, Georgia. The event pairs a timed 5K and a 1-Mile fun run with an evening tree lighting and holiday activities. Features on site include food trucks, music, holiday lights, the Coca-Cola holiday truck, and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.
Proceeds from the event support Christian City’s five Children & Family Programs. Christian City operates on a 500-acre campus and provides services for children facing poverty, homelessness, neglect, or abuse, helps families in crisis, and offers affordable housing for over 1,000 seniors. Christian City was established in 1965.
The running course is described as flat and suitable for personal best attempts, and the 5K is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier with awards across multiple age groups. All registrants receive a t-shirt and a participation medallion.
Registration fees vary by date: before November 3 the fees are $35 for the 5K and $25 for the fun run; from November 4 through December 5 the fees are $45 for the 5K and $35 for the fun run. Children under five may participate free of charge. A family maximum fee is listed at $140. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
