Christmas Star Run and Tree Lighting
The Christmas Star Run and Tree Lighting is an evening community event held at Christian City in Union City, Georgia. The 2025 edition combined a run with an annual tree lighting program and several family-focused activities.
The event welcomed more than 100 participants along with youth and house parents from Christian City’s Children’s Village and Thrive programs. Senior residents attended the tree lighting portion and were offered hot chocolate and cookies. Onsite attractions in 2025 included photos with Santa, the Chick-fil-A cow, and the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck. Food service was provided by the Academic Pizza truck and a s’mores fire pit was available.
Proceeds from the 2025 event were used to benefit Christian City’s Children & Family Programs; the organizer reported raising close to $60,000 after expenses. Sponsors supported the event and a photo gallery from the 2025 gathering is available through the organizer.
