Girls on the Run Georgia 5K Celebration
The event is a season-closing, celebratory 5K for Girls on the Run Georgia participants and community runners. It is non-competitive and untimed; participants may run, walk, jump or skip the 3.1-mile course. The event includes a festival with activities such as temporary tattoos, Happy Hair stations, dancing and merchandise for sale. Participants in the Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole programs receive commemorative medals, and registrants who meet the deadline are guaranteed a 5K T-shirt.
The council requires every girl to have a 5K Buddy aged 16 or older to accompany her on the full course; coaches may serve as Buddies for up to three girls of similar pace. Family members and community participants may join but must register. The council provides safety monitors, police presence and a plan for emergencies; the event is presented as accessible for people with disabilities and offers designated parking spots.
Online registration windows and fees are published, with early bird, regular online, and in-person pricing tiers; entries are non-refundable. Packet pickup procedures distinguish team coaches from community registrants. The event supports the Girls on the Run Scholarship Fund to increase program access.
