Girls on the Run Georgia 5K : 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Georgia 5K is a season-closing, celebratory event that brings together program participants, coaches, families and community runners. The event is non-competitive and not timed; participants may run, walk, jump or skip along the course. The distance is 3.1 miles.
The fall 5K takes place on December 5, 2026 at Cheney Stadium, 741 Connally Street SE, Atlanta, GA 30315. All currently enrolled program participants and coaches are already registered as part of their program registration. Program participants receive a commemorative medal, and registrants who meet the deadline are guaranteed a 5K T-shirt.
Registration details are set by period and price: early online pricing applies during a defined early window, regular online pricing runs through the online registration close date, and in-person registration and packet pickup are available near the event for a higher on-site fee. Financial assistance is available for Running Buddies of currently enrolled participants who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch; discounted or complimentary Buddy entries are provided per eligibility rules.
Every girl must have a 5K Buddy age 16 or older who is registered for the event. The event is accessible to participants who walk, run, roll or push, and designated parking spots are available. The 5K is rain or shine and entries are non-refundable. For safety, participants wear bibs, have Running Buddies, and course monitors and on-site security are present.
