5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Georgia 5K is a celebratory, noncompetitive event that closes the season and gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The fall 5K takes place on December 5, 2026 at Cheney Stadium, 741 Connally Street SE, Atlanta, GA 30315.
The event is untimed and participants may run, walk, jump or skip the 5K course. All Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole program participants receive a commemorative medal. Participants who register by November 20 are guaranteed a 5K T-shirt. Fall 2026 program participants and coaches are already registered through their program and do not need separate registration.
Online registration has staged pricing with an early bird window and a regular window; in-person registration is available at packet pickup and on event morning for a higher fee. Families that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch may receive discounted or complimentary entries for a 5K Buddy. Every girl must have a 5K Buddy age 16 or older; coaches may act as buddies for up to three girls of similar pace. All registrants sign liability waivers.
The event features a festival with Happy Hair stations, temporary tattoos, giveaways, dancing and merchandise. Safety measures include course monitors, police and on-site security, designated parking, and a plan to support participants with disabilities.
