Course support, rules and kit
The course is self-navigation. GPX files and written directions are provided by the organiser and pacers called timelords run to target finish hours to help with navigation and pacing. Checkpoints offer water and a selection of food; example items include sandwiches, malt loaf, cake, squash, cola and hot soup at the finish. The race is cup-free so runners must carry a reusable cup. Some checkpoint toilets are external or portaloo only; inside checkpoint buildings are not available to competitors after they start.
All entrants must be at least 20 years old and carry mandatory kit. Required items include a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, printed map or GPS, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit. Entry fees are non-refundable; transfer and deferral options are available for an additional charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
