The Wimpy Mile : Dahlonega, GA
The Wimpy Mile is a one mile walk/run held on February 13, 2027 in Dahlonega, Georgia. The event is presented by the Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Club and is the sixth annual edition.
The certified mile course starts near Hancock Park in downtown Dahlonega and follows Wimpy Mill Rd downhill to the Yahoola Creek kayak launch area. The course features a measured elevation loss of 178' from start to finish. The event is open to walkers, joggers, runners, families, and participants accompanied by four-legged friends. Participants may wear costumes to mark February holidays.
After the finish, an awards presentation and additional festivities take place back at Hancock Park. Transportation will be available for participants who prefer not to walk the return mile.
Registration details stated by the organizer include an opening on April 27, 2026 and a closing on February 13, 2027. The stated registration fee is $30.00. Registrants who register by February 6, 2027 are guaranteed a T-shirt in their size; shirts will be available to later registrants after the race while supplies last.
