The Wimpy Mile
The Wimpy Mile is a one mile road event held on February 13, 2027 in Dahlonega. It is organized by the Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Club and is presented as the sixth annual running of the event.
The course is a certified one mile that starts at Hancock Park in downtown Dahlonega and moves downhill along Wimpy Mill Road to the Yahoola Creek kayak launch area. The route has a net elevation drop of 178 feet from start to finish.
The event is described as suitable for a range of paces. It provides an opportunity for serious runners to attempt a personal record and offers a scenic, downhill route for joggers, walkers, families, and dogs. Costumes are permitted for participants who wish to mark February holidays.
Postrace activities and an awards presentation take place back at Hancock Park. Transportation is available for participants who prefer not to walk the return mile.
