THE CONQUER - Dawsonville, GA
The Conquer is a backyard ultra held at Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville, GA. The event uses a marked loop that begins at the top of the falls and follows the East Ridge trail down to the bottom parking area, continues on the Mountain Laurel trail, and returns via the AT approach with 605 steps back to the top. The loop measures about 3.6 miles and climbs roughly 1,025 ft.
Each runner has one hour to complete the loop; at the top of each hour all remaining runners start the next loop together. Runners must be in the starting corral before the hour begins, start with the group, and complete the full loop within 60 minutes. No late starts or course cutting are allowed. Between loops runners may use their time to eat, rest, change clothes, tend to feet, or use the port-a-potty, but they may not leave the venue or start the next loop early. The course is fully marked and a route map will be available.
Organizers provide a 10x10 spot or a table spot under a support tent for each runner. No pacers are allowed; support crews may assist at the finish area. The event continues until a single runner completes a solo final loop.
Prizes and recognitions include $1,000 to the last man and $1,000 to the last woman, special awards for reaching 8, 24, and 29 loops, an extra $1,000 if the event exceeds 36 loops, timing services, snacks and water, free photos, and custom DNW medals.
