The Amicalola Falls Marathon takes place at Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville, Georgia. The event offers trail race options for a full marathon and a half marathon. Distances:

- Full Marathon - two 13.1-mile loops
The course passes through forested trails and alongside creeks and includes views of the 729-foot Amicalola Falls. Trail surface is approximately 83% singletrack and 17% gravel or paved. The full marathon has a 7-hour time cutoff (about a 16:01 per mile pace).
Course, support and rules
The full course is made of two 13.1-mile loops and includes the 605 steps of the Appalachian Approach Trail. Elevation change is listed as about 3,200 feet for the half and about 6,400 feet for the full. The route is marked with flags and signs.
Two fully stocked aid stations provide food, drinks, and medical support. The event provides race shirts or hats, a finisher medal, professional timing, and free race photos and videos. Awards are given by overall, masters, and age-class categories; overall winners in full and half receive free entry for the next year. Rules include following race staff and medical instructions, no cutting the course, punching all flags for credit, trekking poles allowed, no pacers, and a carry-in carry-out policy for waste.
