Run for WaterAid at Swinsty Reservoir

The Tilbury Douglas Yorkshire Run for WaterAid takes place at Swinsty Reservoir, located within the Washburn Valley on the southern edge of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Harrogate. This multi-terrain event offers two distance options held on a circuit around the reservoir. The race is organized by WaterAid in Yorkshire, with proceeds supporting projects to provide clean water to people living in poverty.

The available distances for this event are:

  • 5 km (one lap of the circuit)
  • 10 km (two laps of the circuit)

The course utilizes accessibility-friendly paths that are primarily flat, with the exception of one moderate hill. The terrain consists mostly of established paths, with some sections on public roads and short segments on flat dirt tracks. Due to the nature of the terrain, the event is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The event operates under a pending UKA Licence, making it an official race for club rankings and results on Power of 10. Participants are discouraged from wearing headphones to comply with UKA regulations. While the event provides water stations, toilets, and distance markers, there are no facilities for baggage storage, changing, or showers. Race headquarters is located at the Swinsty Moor Car Park. Entry fees vary based on England Athletics membership and participation in car sharing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
