About the race
BeckBusters 10km is a chip timed multi‑terrain race held on 20 September 2026 in Bishop Monkton with the start and finish at Bishop Monkton Primary School. The course covers approximately 10 km in a single lap and is described as flat, running over a mixture of quiet country road, footpaths and trails.
The route follows the River Ure and the Ripon Canal, passes through the village of Littlethorpe and returns cross country to Bishop Monkton. The event notes a finishing feature that involves a splash through the beck. The organisers operate an entry limit of 300 participants and list 165 places remaining at the time of publication. Entrants must be over 15 on race day.
Facilities at race headquarters include toilets, water, distance markers and refreshments served at the primary school, including bacon sandwiches and homemade cakes. Finishers receive energy bars and fruit, and there is an option to add a medal for entries submitted before 15 August 2026. Prize categories include 1st to 3rd male and female overall, age category winners and awards for school parents and local residents.
The event is run by Friends of Bishop Monkton Primary School Registered Charity 1050824. The course is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.
