Event overview
The South Hams Ultra is a multi-distance trail event in South Hams, Devon, scheduled in October 2026. Distances offered:

- 26 miles (marathon)
Entry fees listed are £140 for the 100-mile race, £70 for the 44-mile race and £45 for the marathon. The event is open to entrants aged 18 and over. GPS trackers are provided by Geotracks. The course is marshalled and supported with professional first aid, parking, bag drop and bespoke finisher medals. Prizes are offered for category winners.
Route, cut-offs and support
All routes use public rights of way, bridleways and coastal paths and traverse parts of Dartmoor National Park and five estuaries. The full route circumnavigates South Hams in an anti-clockwise direction and follows the South Hams Way for most of the distance. Key route features include tidal crossings, a ferry crossing paid for by the organiser, and sections on the Dart Valley Way, Two Moors Way and the Erme Plym trail.
Cut-offs and total ascent:
- 100 miles: cut-off 35 hours; ascent 4,890 m.
- 44 miles: cut-off 14 hours; ascent 1,947 m.
- Marathon: cut-off 8 hours; ascent 1,183 m.
Start and finish locations named in the event information include Mothecombe car park on the Flete Estate. The 44-mile start is listed at Old Town Mill, Totnes; the marathon start at Old School Community Centre, South Brent. The long race has eight checkpoints, the 44-mile race four, and the marathon three.
