Event overview
The Ridgeway Challenge is an 86-mile (139 km) point-to-point trail race along the entire length of The Ridgeway National Trail. The route runs from Ivinghoe Beacon in Hertfordshire to the Avebury Stones in Wiltshire, following a path that the organiser describes as having endured for over 5,000 years. Total elevation is listed as 6060 ft (approximately 1850 m). The next edition is scheduled for Saturday 30th May 2026. Time allowed for the route is 28 hours. The event is listed as a UTMB World Series Index race and holds TRA Licence 7125; it is held under UKA rules.

Logistics and facilities
Maximum field size is 250 runners and minimum age is 20. Open tracking will be used and navigation relies on The Ridgeway's permanent signage with additional race markers where needed. There are eight checkpoints with mile/km positions and some facilities noted (WC at several points). Hot water is available from CP3 onwards; hot food is available at CP5 (South Stoke) and CP8 (Ogbourne St George). Typical aid station items include water, coke, electrolyte drink, gels and chews, crisps and sweets, pre-made sandwiches, and fresh fruit. Drop bags are available at CP5 and the finish. Required kit includes a charged mobile phone, GPX or paper map of the route, minimum 1 litre water capacity, survival bag or foil blanket, primary and backup lights, head covering, waterproof jacket with hood and sealed seams, warm clothing, basic first aid items, a re-usable soft cup, and cash or card.
