Affinity Hatfield Midweek 5K Race Series
The event is a series of three 5 km races held on three consecutive Wednesday evenings: 26 August 2026, 2 September 2026 and 9 September 2026. Two of the races incorporate county championship categories: one includes the Hertfordshire Senior Championships and another includes the Hertfordshire Veterans Championships. Entry is limited to a maximum of 375 participants per race; the races are currently full and a waiting list is in operation for potential places.
The series is governed by England Athletics rules with UKA permit details noted and a Certificate of Course Accuracy 23/177. Minimum age to compete is 14 years. Veteran age groups for both men and women are V40, V50, V60, V70 and V80. Individual series results use the best two of three race times; entrants must participate in all three races for series prizes. Team prizes are open only to affiliated clubs; a male team is four members and a female team is three members from the same club.
Race headquarters are at Affinity Water HQ, Tamblin Way, Hatfield AL10 9EZ. Car parking is available at Race HQ and a one way system should be observed. Race numbers are issued at the first race and must be retained for the series. No refunds or deferrals are offered; transfers are allowed only in their entirety and only before the first race. Headphones of any description are prohibited. Toilets are provided at Race HQ; using unofficial facilities may lead to disqualification.
