Affinity Hatfield 5K Series 2026
Affinity Hatfield is a midweek series of three 5 km races held in Hatfield on 26 August, 2 September and 9 September 2026. The second and third races incorporate the Hertfordshire Senior and Vets Championships respectively. The series is organised by Garden City Runners at Affinity Water HQ, Tamblin Way, Hatfield AL10 9EZ. Car parking is available at the race HQ; a one-way system is in operation.
Each race is capped at 375 participants and all races are currently full; a waiting list is being maintained. Minimum age is 14 years. Vet age groups for championships are V40, V50, V60, V70 and V80 for both men and women. The event is held under UKA rules with UKA permit number xxx and Certificate of Course Accuracy 23/177. Current male and female course records are 15:06 (2025) and 16:23 (2024); breaking a course record grants free entry to the series the following year.
Individual series prizes are based on the best two of three race times; entrants must run all three races to qualify for series prizes. Team prizes are open to affiliated clubs only; a team comprises four men or three women and must contest all three races. Race numbers are issued at the first race and must be retained; no refunds and only full transfers before the first race are permitted. Headphones of any description are prohibited. Toilets are provided at Race HQ; use of unofficial facilities may lead to disqualification. Presentations are made after each race and series awards after the final event.
