Affinity Hatfield 5K Series 2026
A series of three 5k races held on consecutive Wednesday evenings: 26 August 2026, 2 September 2026 and 9 September 2026. The first event incorporates the Hertfordshire Senior Championships and the second incorporates the Hertfordshire Veterans Championships. Entry is limited to a maximum of 375 participants per race and at the time of publication all races are full.
The series is organised under UKA rules with a course accuracy certificate 23/177 and an event permit. Minimum age is 14 years. Vet age groups are V40, V50, V60, V70 and V80 for both men and women. Breaking a course record earns free entry to the series the following year. The reported male course record is 15:06 set on 27 August 2025 and the reported female course record is 16:23 set on 4 September 2024.
Race headquarters is at Affinity Water HQ, Tamblin Way, Hatfield AL10 9EZ with car parking available at the venue; attendees should observe the site one way system. Toilets are inside Race HQ; use of unofficial facilities may lead to disqualification.
Prizes are awarded after each race and for the overall series. Individual race prizes include first male and female and best age graded male and female. Series prizes use the best two of three race times and require participation in all three races. Team prizes are open only to affiliated clubs and require teams of four men or three women. Race numbers are allocated at the first race and must be retained; no refunds or deferrals are permitted and transfers are allowed only in their entirety before the first race.
