Affinity Hatfield 5K Series 2026
The Affinity Hatfield 5K Series is a set of three midweek 5 km road races held on consecutive Wednesday evenings: 26 August 2026, 2 September 2026 and 9 September 2026. The series includes the Hertfordshire Senior Championships on 26 August and the Hertfordshire Veterans Championships on 2 September. Each race has a maximum entry of 375 participants; entries were full at the time of this notice and a waiting list is maintained.
Races are organised under UK Athletics rules and the course has a Certificate of Course Accuracy 23/177. Minimum age for entry is 14 years. Veteran age groups follow the listed V40, V50, V60, V70 and V80 categories for both men and women. Series individual prizes are calculated from the best two of three race times and entrants must compete in all three races; age on the first race determines age group for the series. An individual may win only one age group prize.
Club team prizes are open only to affiliated clubs. A male team is four members and a female team is three members from the same club; all three races count for team results, with the best two times used.
Race numbers are issued at registration at the first race and must be retained for the series. No refunds or deferrals are permitted; transfers are allowed only in their entirety and only before the first race. Headphones of any description are prohibited. Race HQ is Affinity Water HQ, Tamblin Way, Hatfield AL10 9EZ; parking is available and a one way system applies.
