The Ribbon 200
The Ribbon 200 is a trail running event along the Blue Mountains, Dufferin Hi-Land and Caledon Hills sections of the Bruce Trail. The event offers multiple formats on varied terrain with technical singletrack and significant climbing.
Distances offered:
- 200 Miles out and back
- 100 Miles point to point
- E2E 72.5 km Blue Mountains section
Route and markings: the course includes singletrack, double track and gravel roads and is marked using only the Bruce Trail white blazes; there will be no additional signage.
Approximate elevation gain:
- 200 Miles: about 8,900 m
- 100 Miles: about 4,450 m
- E2E 72.5 km: about 1,550 m
Aid and services: 11–13 fully stocked aid stations with hot food spaced approximately every 20–30 km; 4–5 sleep stations; and 3–5 unmanned water stations depending on weather. No aid station is more than 75 minutes from the start.
Rules and mandatory gear: pacers are permitted for the 100 and 200 mile events only at specified aid stations and must not carry equipment for the runner. Required gear includes a headlamp, wind or rain jacket, 2 L hydration, toque, phone with tracking app, backup battery and whistle.
