About the race
The Ribbon 200 is a multi-distance trail event that follows sections of the Bruce Trail through the Blue Mountains, Dufferin Hi-Land and Caledon Hills.
Distances include:
- 200 Miles out and back; approx 9,500 m elevation.
- 100 Miles point to point; approx 4,500 m elevation.
- 72.5 km Blue Mountains E2E; approx 1,500 m elevation.
The course uses the Bruce Trail white blazes only, with additional signage at some locations. Terrain includes singletrack, double track, gravel roads and technical sections with substantial climbing. The start and finish area is at the top of Blue Mountain at the Summit parking lot and is within driving distance of Toronto.
Support on course includes 11–13 fully stocked aid stations with hot food roughly every 20–30 km, 4–5 sleep stations, and 6–7 unmanned water stations depending on weather. Pacers are permitted for the 200 and 100 mile distances but may start only at specified aid stations and may not carry gear for runners. Required gear follows the runner’s manual; basic items listed include a headlamp, waterproof jacket, 2–3 L hydration, phone with the Bruce Trail app, backup battery and whistle.
Finish items and services include timing, bibs, bus transport for some distances, finish buckles for 100 and 200 mile finishers, medals for the E2E, race shirts, photos and other swag. Stated entry fees are provided for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
