Blue Bully Ultra
The Blue Bully Ultra is a three-day stage race held at Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario. Participants can sign up for individual events or for the full weekend experience. The format features three distinct styles of racing over three consecutive days.
The distances and elevation gain for each day are as follows:
- Day 1 (The Stampede): 5 km with 400 m of elevation gain.
- Day 2 (The Drive): 50 km with 1,800 m of elevation gain, or 25 km with 1,250 m of elevation gain. A kids' race, the Woolly Bully Kids Race, is also offered.
- Day 3 (The Round-Up): a timed loop race on a 3.75 km loop with 250 m of elevation gain. Runners complete as many loops as they can within a 3-hour or 1.5-hour time bracket.
Award ceremonies are held each day for the top three female and male finishers. A major awards ceremony on Sunday honors the top competitors who raced all three days in the Big Bully (longer distances) and Little Bully (shorter distances) categories. The event is Trail Sisters approved.
Racers who sign up for all three days receive a ticket for the post-race meal on Friday and Saturday. A different swag item is given each day: a microfiber neck tube/head wrap on Day 1, a high-quality tech tee on Day 2, and a custom Blue Bully toque on Day 3. The event includes live music on Saturday and social events after the Friday and Saturday races. Full medical and search and rescue support is provided for competitors.
