About the race
The Race for a Place is a community 5K and 10K run/walk held at Front Porch Housing in Greenville, South Carolina on October 2, 2027. The event raises awareness for supportive housing and funds supportive services while bringing together residents, donors, and local participants. The course runs around the Front Porch Housing property and the neighboring Greenville Technical campus. Packet pickup takes place the day before the race behind the ClubHouse at Front Porch Housing; packet pickup hours will be posted closer to race day.
Race day registration is available behind the ClubHouse prior to the start. Parking is available at Front Porch Housing; participants are advised to allow time to park and warm up. All registrants receive a T-shirt with packet pickup; exact shirt size is not guaranteed for late registrations. Children 7 years old and under may participate for free without registration but will not receive a race shirt.
Children under 8 may register for an official race time but will not be placed in an awards division. Strollers are welcome. Animals are not permitted on the course or at the event. Awards include Top Overall Male and Female and Top 3 in each age group for male and female divisions.
The race is part of the Upstate Giving Series. Results are posted live on the RunSignUp race page. No refunds; the event goes on rain or shine unless severe weather creates an unsafe environment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
