Event Overview
The Race for a Place is an annual community event in Greenville, South Carolina, now in its third year. The event serves to raise awareness and funding for supportive housing and services provided by Front Porch Housing. The venue is located at 1433 Cleveland St., and participants gather at the Front Porch Housing property for the start of the activities.
Course Information
The race routes cover the area around the Front Porch property and the neighboring Greenville Technical Campus. Both runners and walkers are permitted to participate in the event. The available distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run/Walk
Participation and Awards
The event is open to various age groups, with official timing provided for registered participants. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in several age divisions ranging from 8–12 up to 70 and older.
Children aged 7 and under may participate for free without registration, though they do not receive a race shirt or placement in awards divisions. Packet pickup is organized on the morning of the event at the race site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
