The Pause at Pele 5K Experience
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Pele Counseling and Consulting Corp. presents an interactive 3.1-mile 5K experience along the Anacostia Stream Trail in Prince George's County, Maryland. The event meets at Ellen E. Linson Splash Park in College Park, MD, and is framed by the theme Run. Reflect. Reset.
The course includes staged, interactive moments with playful characters representing stress, exhaustion, and overload, atmospheric fog, and reflection prompts. The route is organized around three ideas: RUN to move the body, REFLECT on what participants are carrying, and RESET toward what they want to move toward. The finish features a celebratory bubble moment. Organizers note there is no pressure to be the fastest and that runners and walkers of all fitness levels are welcome.
Proceeds will support Pele’s work to create accessible opportunities for mothers to pause, restore, and reconnect through restorative wellness experiences, community resources, health screenings, and referrals. The event has a stated fundraising goal of $10,000. Registered participants will receive additional race-day details, including check-in information, the official course, parking, and participant instructions. The event description also notes a refund policy allowing refunds up to seven days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
