The Original Swanage Triathlon Festival
The Original Swanage Triathlon Festival takes place at Sandpit Field, Shore Road, Swanage, Dorset, BH19 1NP, set in the Isle of Purbeck. The swim is in open water within Swanage Bay where sea life may be visible in clear conditions. The bike route includes several hill climbs and a notable descent on Kingston Hill. The run heads north out of Swanage town and rises onto Ballard Down Ridge, a chalk downland section on the Purbeck Hills.
The event offers multiple race formats and relay options across varied terrain, and is described as a weekend event with activities for families and clubs. Entry fees listed range from £51 to £106. Volunteers and marshals are used throughout the event; volunteers receive a complimentary entry to one of the organiser's events as a thank you. A 2026 participant review noted clear safety information, good communication and supportive marshals.
The organiser requests that athletes follow a Code of Conduct that encourages respect, support and good sportsmanship. Directions and parking information are provided in pre-event materials and on local town resources. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
