The Doomsday Run : Charborough Estate
The Doomsday Run takes place on 29 November 2026 at Charborough Estate, Bere Wood, Dorset. It is a trail race through roughly 600 acres of ancient woodland with sections of dense canopy and low light. The route is a natural forest loop on uneven terrain with roots, ruts and seasonal mud.
Distances available:
- 10K single loop, 157 ft climb, one aid station
- Half marathon (21K) double loop, 315 ft climb, one aid station
- Half marathon relay 2 people, one loop each
The course runs on woodland tracks with technical sections, steep climbs and exposed ground. Trail shoes are recommended. The route is rated 4 out of 5 for difficulty. A GPX file is issued to participants and a draft route map will be updated nearer the event.
Race HQ is a covered base with toilets, hot and cold drinks, first aid, marshals, chip timing and a place to gather before and after the race. There is one aid station on the loop offering vegan and gluten free options. Results are chip timed and published live on the day.
Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone and a reusable cup. Recommended items include 0.5 L water, foil blanket, extra layer, snacks or gels, GPS watch, whistle, gloves and a buff or hat. Entries are non refundable; optional third party refund cover and transfers via Race Space are available. Minimum age 18. No pacers or dogs are allowed.
