The One in the Park: Hyde Park 5k & 10k
The event takes place in Hyde Park, London, with the village at Hyde Park Bandstand (W2 2UH). The course follows smooth tarmac pathways around the park, passing the Serpentine Lake, monuments, rose gardens, meadows and areas frequented by wildfowl. The 5 km loop is used once for the 5k and twice for the 10k.
Distances:
- 5k - one lap (age 11+)
- 10k - two laps (age 15+)
Entry includes a finisher medal, refreshments and chip timing. Water is provided on the route at the lap point. Photography is expected to be available, usually within 24 hours of the event. Suitable medical cover will be provided. A bag drop is available; participants should attach the tear-off strip from their race number to items left. Toilets will be located near the start and finish area; Royal Parks may charge 20p per use. There are no dedicated changing rooms or showers.
Spectators are permitted around the start/finish area and route. Personal dogs are not allowed except registered medical assistance dogs with prior approval. The event is described as suitable for wheelchair users and for participants using buggies, pushchairs or strollers, with organizers available to discuss specialised equipment needs. Race deferrals are allowed until registration closes and an admin fee applies. Pre-race information is sent to registered participants one week before the event.
