The Rubber Ducky Waddle
This is a 7 hour Time Challenge held at The Last Hop, Thames Edge, Clarence Street, Staines. Runners choose how many laps to complete; the minimum recorded distance for an official finish is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles / 7 km, with a possible change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. 3 km and 5 km turn points are provided within the lap to support age restrictions.
The route runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. Surfaces are mainly well made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year round. The regular course may be altered after a health and safety review.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a rubber duck themed medal and a rubber duck. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance or greater; available pins include Half Marathon, Mega Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra and one pin is attached to the medal ribbon. A goody bag is provided to finishers with a vegan goody bag option.
Aid and drinks tables are positioned at the start / finish of each lap with drinks and snacks such as crisps, cheese, fruit and cookies and vegan options. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Members receive a £10 lower entry price and a mini-me medal pin plus guaranteed entry; UK Athletics affiliated club members receive a £2 discount.
Venue toilets are available but there are no separate changing rooms or showers. Number pick up is on the day at race registration. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines.
