Event Format
The Rubber Ducky Waddle is a 7-hour time challenge event. Runners have full control over the distance they wish to complete, with a minimum of 3 km to be an official finisher. The event uses a lapped course along the River Thames.
Course Details
The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames. It is fully signed, requiring no navigation experience. The surface is mainly well-made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Road shoes are suitable all year round. The standard lap is 4.37 miles or 7 km, though this is subject to change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. Turn points within the lap allow for 3 km and 5 km distances to comply with age restrictions.

Participants can run as many laps as they wish, subject to UK Athletics age restrictions. Common benchmarks are 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon, and 7 or more for an ultra marathon. A 50 km distance is also available. Registration and number collection happen on the day before the start. Final instructions are emailed in the week before the event.
