Ashtead 10k 2026
The Ashtead 10k and accompanying 2 km fun run are organised annually by Ashtead Running Group to raise funds for local charities. The event is based at The Scout Hut, Woodfield, Ashtead, and takes place on rough tracks around Ashtead Common.
The course runs entirely on the common, which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve. The site contains two ancient scheduled monuments, a Roman villa and a triangular earthwork. The race takes place with permission from the Ashtead Common Rangers and the Corporation of the City of London. The route is not flat and is described as undulating. Organisers note a past hornet incident and cannot guarantee the course will be hornet-free. For safety, earphones are not permitted during the race.
Entry fees cover processing, a free raffle, licences and permits, and medical coverage. Monies raised after race expenses are donated to local charities. The event is described as "The Greenest Race in Britain" and encourages participants to use public transport, walk, run, cycle or car share; the train station is about a one minute walk from the event HQ.
