North Wales 50km & 100km

The North Wales 50km & 100km event follows the North Walian coastline, starting from the Nova Centre in Prestatyn. The long-distance routes utilize the waymarked North Wales Path, offering a mix of flat coastal sections and inland hills.

Participants can choose between two main distances:

  • 53.8 km (50km category) with 2,700 feet of ascent.
  • 100 km with 8,000 feet of ascent.

The 100 km course follows the entire North Wales Path toward Bangor, while the 53.8 km route concludes at West Shore, Llandudno. Landmarks along the course include the Great Orme, Conwy Castle, Aber Falls, and Penrhyn Castle.

The event includes chip timing, tracking, medical cover, and an event map. There are six aid stations provided for the 100 km distance and three for the 50 km distance. For those running the 100 km, a drop bag service is available to transport personal items to the 50 km mark and then to the finish line.

Finishers receive an event-specific memento and a certificate. The course has set time limits of 9 hours for the shorter distance and 18 hours for the longer distance. As the route follows the main British Rail train line from Chester to Holyhead, several train stations are located near the path. Parking is available at the start for a small charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
