North Wales 50km and 100km
This event follows a runnable route along the North Wales coastline between Prestatyn and Bangor, combining long coastal sections with inland hills while remaining close to the coast. The routes pass notable landmarks including the Great Orme, Conwy Castle, Aber Falls and Penrhyn Castle.
Distances offered:
- 50 km reported as 53.8 km with about 2700 ft of ascent
- 100 km follows the waymarked North Wales Path with about 8000 ft of ascent
There are six aid stations along the full route, with three used by the 50 km course. 100 km entrants can have a drop bag transported to the 50 km checkpoint at Llandudno West Shore and then forwarded to the finish.
Event services provided for all participants include medical cover, an event map, tracking and chip timing, plus an event memento and certificate. Parking is available at the start for a small charge. Competitors are expected to arrange their own transport from the finish and are advised to have a support driver available if they withdraw; the main rail line from Chester to Holyhead runs near the route and there are multiple stations.
A briefing and a mandatory kit check take place before departure. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, hat and gloves, a minimum of 1 litre of water, a foil blanket, the event map and information sheet, and a fully charged mobile phone. 100 km entrants must also carry a fully charged head torch.
