More Miles Last One Standing Challenge : Knoxville, MD
The More Miles Last One Standing Challenge is a backyard ultra held at Manidokan Camp and Retreat Center in Knoxville, Maryland on May 30, 2026. The format uses a repeating loop called a yard; each loop must be completed within the hour to continue into the next hour. The last participant able to complete the yard is the single official finisher; the second-to-last finisher is designated the assist.
The event offers two race options:
- 4.167 mile official backyard course that can qualify entrants for the Backyard Ultra world championship.
- 1 mile backyard for mortals division that runs 24 hours then adds one mile per hour in a tie-breaker until one remains.
Race amenities include on-site camping with a designated 10 by 10 foot space for each participant, showers, and nearby cabins available for rent. Organizers provide a small aid station with water, Tailwind, and light snacks. There will be simple evening camp food and breakfast the following morning. Every participant receives official timing, a race shirt, and a bib; a consolation prize is provided to nonfinalists and a single award is given to the Last One Standing in each division.
Key rules and notes: support is allowed at the start/finish area but not on the course; pacers and outside assistance on the yard are prohibited; headlamps or personal lighting are required between sunset and sunrise; the event is cupless and no dogs or alcohol are permitted on site.
A pledge per mile option allows participants to raise funds for a charity of their choice. This fundraising is managed individually and is separate from event operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
