More Miles Last One Standing Challenge
The More Miles Last One Standing Challenge is an annual backyard ultra held in Knoxville, MD, at 1600 Harpers Ferry Rd. The 2026 edition is the seventh running of the event. The organizer offers prize money for the top two finishers based on official race miles. The event does not offer refunds.
Race format and distances
The main course is an official backyard yard measuring 4.167 miles. Participants must complete one full yard each hour to continue into the next hour. The last participant able to complete the yard within the hour is the winner.
A second event, described as a "backyard for mortals," uses a 1-mile course. The 1-mile event runs for 24 hours, then uses a tie-breaker protocol where each additional hour adds one mile until only one participant remains. Only official laps count toward totals.
Registration and event notes
Registration closes on Thu, May 28 at 11:59 PM ET. Registrants who register by April 20, 2026 are guaranteed a t-shirt size; later registrants receive remaining sizes on a first-come, first-served basis.
