YMCA Santa Run 10K : Frederick event summary
The YMCA Santa Run in Frederick includes in-person and virtual race options held at Monocacy Village Park and managed by the Frederick YMCA. Distances offered include a one mile Elf Run, a 5K, and a 10K; virtual versions of each distance are available and can be completed offsite during the event window.
Packet pick-up for in-person and virtual participants takes place at the Downtown YMCA on three days the week of the event. Virtual participants living more than 50 miles from Frederick may request mailed packets for a $15 fee; mailed packets ship after the event. All participants receive a finisher medal that doubles as a holiday ornament, and beanies are available for ages five and up with a registration guarantee for entries received by October 31. Ages one through four receive a race cinch bag or equivalent instead of a beanie.
Race logistics include out-and-back and lap course descriptions: the 5K runs out and back on Shifferstadt Boulevard with two U-turns, the 10K is two laps of the 5K course, and the one mile is an out-and-back to Mohican Drive. Race day amenities listed include snacks, water, porta-potties, a First Aid/AED station with certified personnel, on-site vendors, and designated parking areas near the park. Dogs are not permitted on the course except registered service animals. Awards for in-person races include overall male and female winners for the 5K and 10K and a Best Holiday Costume Award.
