The Maverick East Sussex Trail 2027
The Maverick East Sussex Trail is a one-day trail running event at Stanmer Park, Brighton, East Sussex (BN1 9RH). The course follows sections of the South Downs Way and includes rolling hills, chalk downland tracks, twisting woodland paths, and open farmland. Runners will encounter sustained climbs including an ascent toward Ditchling Beacon, noted as the third-highest point in the South Downs National Park.
Three route options are offered, each with measured distance and elevation gain:
- Half Marathon: 21 km, +457 m elevation, entry £49
- Middle: 13 km, +339 m elevation, entry £39
- Short: 5 km, +147 m elevation, entry £29
The event area includes pay and display parking at the University of Brighton (Falmer) about a 15 minute walk from the venue, and Falmer railway station is the nearest station, about a 5 to 10 minute walk. The course is fully marked and fully timed. Precision fuel and hydration outposts provide a range of snacks, gels, and electrolyte drink; outposts are intended to be cup-free so participants are asked to bring a refillable cup or bottle. Other on-site services listed include online results, event photography, food and drink, bag drop, and a metal finishers medal.
Participants are advised to follow on-course signage, listen to marshals, take care when crossing roads, and avoid littering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
