Maverick East Sussex Trail 2027
The Maverick East Sussex Trail takes place on Saturday 3 April 2027 at Stanmer Park in Brighton, East Sussex. Courses use sections of the South Downs Way and include climbs toward Ditchling Beacon, linking ridgelines, open downland and woodland tracks.
Runners will encounter a mix of terrain: chalky downland tracks that require care on descents, twisting woodland paths, and open farmland sections. The course is hilly and run on hard-packed trails with low technicality. The event offers multiple route lengths and notable elevation gain across the options; the three routes are described below.
- Half Marathon, 21 km, +457 m
- Middle, 13 km, +339 m
- Short, 5 km, +147 m
Logistics include pay and display parking at the University of Brighton (Falmer), a walk to the event area, and Falmer train station within a short walk of the venue. On-course outposts provide a range of snacks, gels and electrolyte drink and are intended as top-ups to what participants carry. The outposts aim to be cup-free so participants should bring a cup or bottle for refills.
The event features a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, bag drop, food and drink availability and a metal finishers medal. The event is dog-friendly with limited spaces and a requirement to add a dog to the entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
