The Lucky Leprechaun Half Marathon

Event Overview
The 10th annual Lucky Leprechaun event takes place on March 7, 2026, in Versailles, Kentucky. The races start and finish at the Falling Springs Recreation Center. This event raises funds for two local charities: The Foster Care Council of Kentucky and The Woodford Humane Society.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from several race options:
- Half Marathon
- 10 Miler
- 5K A virtual runner/walker option is also available.
Course & Location
The course is described as scenic, taking place on paved country roads that pass through horse country. The half marathon route features rolling hills and some flatter sections, with multiple hydration stations along the way.
Event Features
All finishers of the three main race distances receive a commemorative medal. Registered participants get a performance T-shirt. Other features include overall and age group awards, a Best Dressed Leprechaun contest, free race photos, and music from a DJ.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on the Thursday and Friday before the race at different locations, including J&H Running Company in Lexington and the Falling Springs Recreation Center pavilion. Pickup is also available on race morning at the start/finish area for out-of-town participants.
Virtual Participation
For those who cannot attend in person, a virtual option allows participants to complete their chosen distance elsewhere. Those who register for the virtual option by March 1st can have their shirt, race bib, and finisher's medal shipped to them. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
