Frankfort Frosty 5K
The Frankfort Frosty event at Lakeview Park in Frankfort, KY is an annual, community-focused holiday running event in its 11th year. The event offers a chip-timed 5K run/walk on paved trail surfaces with commemorative long-sleeved shirts available while supplies last. Awards are given to the Top 3 men and Top 3 women overall and to the Top 3 men and Top 3 women in five-year age divisions.
A free, untimed kids "Little Frosty" Dash covers 400 yards and is open to children 9 and under; participating children receive a participation medal and parents may purchase a commemorative T-shirt for an additional fee. A virtual 5K option enables participants to run or walk the distance remotely and have a commemorative shirt mailed.
Additional event features include seasonal music and carolers along the route, post-race hot chocolate and snacks, a visit from themed characters, a small silent auction and raffles, and a collection of gently used clothing and shoes for donation. The Franklin County Health Department will offer vaccinations at the event; participants should bring insurance or cash for vaccine fees. Proceeds benefit Greenhouses of Love, the Medical and Dental Honduras Mission Team, Mission Frankfort Clinic, and St. Vincent De Paul.
