The Loop 5K in Charlotte
The Loop 5K takes place on April 26, 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina and is centered in the SouthPark area. The course follows The Loop, a 3.1 mile urban trail that runs along tree lined streets around SouthPark Mall and links paths through the community. The route includes some rolling hills and is described as moderately challenging.
Packet pick up and the event base are at MOTION Fitness, 2101 Rexford Rd #50w, Charlotte. All 5K participants are timed using Chronotrack timing systems in partnership with Start 2 Finish and receive a disposable timing tag at packet pick up. Every participant who registers before April 10 is guaranteed a unisex short sleeve shirt. Participants also receive finisher medals and sponsor giveaways.
Divisions include Overall, Masters, 12 and under, 13-18, and age groups from 19-24 through 70 and over. Awards are given to the top three males and females overall, first place Masters, and first in each age group. Awards must be claimed at the awards ceremony and unclaimed awards will not be shipped.
The event includes a post race festival with music, food, and local vendor booths. Important event policies note that registration fees are non refundable, registrations are non transferable, and a strict 13 minute 45 second per mile pace is enforced for course clearance.
