The Longest Day Run
The Longest Day Run is a sports event held in Geneva, Illinois, to mark the longest day of the year. The event takes place at Old Mill Park and features a scenic course on closed routes. Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 10 km Run
All in-person races are chip-timed. Registration includes a technical shirt, with both unisex and ladies' cuts available, and a custom finisher medal. Following the run, there is a celebration featuring music, pizza, drinks, and dessert.
The 5 km race includes a raffle for sunglasses for all participants. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the first, second, and third-place runners in various age categories ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over.
A virtual participation option is also available between June 15 and June 21. Virtual runners may choose their own location and track their progress using the ASICS Runkeeper app or other tracking devices. Race materials for virtual participants are shipped following the event period. Pre-race packet pickup for in-person runners is held at a local athletic store in St. Charles two days prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
