Event overview
The Running of the Elves is part of the Very Merry Huntley celebration in downtown Huntley at the Square (Coral and Church Street). The event takes place on December 6, 2025. It is hosted by the Rotary Club of Huntley and benefits community programs and scholarships for Huntley students. The downtown event also includes a farmer’s market / craft fair, a cookie walk, and caroling.

Registration fees listed include examples of standard amounts: 5K $30.00, 1 Mile Walk $20.00, Dash for Kids $10.00. All registered participants receive a themed long-sleeve race shirt and an Elf hat; registrations made by October 25 are guaranteed a shirt and size. Additional Elf hats are available for purchase. Awards are given for the Dash (top three combined) and for the 5K by male/female categories across age groups, including 12 and under, 13-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65 and over. Sponsorship opportunities are available with different benefit levels and require commitments by early November for some promotional placements.
