About the race
The Last Tide Standing Backyard Ultra is a timed backyard ultra held on a fixed loop course in Riverview and Moncton, New Brunswick. The course is a 6.7 km loop that circles a section of the Petitcodiac River and includes two bridges, two parks, two boardwalks and a beer garden. The Riverview side offers more amenities while the Moncton side runs through a more natural setting. The loop forms part of the Trans Canada Trail.
The event follows the backyard-ultra format: every hour a bell rings and each runner has one hour to complete the loop. Runners who do not return within the hour are out. The race has no predetermined distance or finish line; it ends when a single person remains.
Participants are encouraged to wear their running-club gear. Individual participants are not allowed to set up canopies or shelters; run clubs may use a designated canopy area but must staff their canopy at all times and remove it if high winds require it.

- Last Person Standing: CA$1,000 and a trophy.
- The Assist: CA$500 and a trophy (if the Assist is the opposite sex of LPS then CA$800).
- Opposite-sex finisher of LPS: CA$300 and a trophy. All participants receive a finishing medal, swag, a Long Run wrist band and a T-shirt. Runners who complete 25+, 50+, 75+ and 100+ miles receive recognition wrist bands. A special Ultra Elite Club recognizes runners who exceed 100 km.
