About the Event
Legs for Literacy is a charitable running event held in Moncton, New Brunswick. As a registered charity, the event is dedicated to generating funds for various literacy projects within the local community. The races take place over a weekend, with the main events crossing through the City of Moncton, the City of Riverview, and the City of Dieppe.
The event offers several distances and participation formats:
- Marathon
- Marathon Relay (minimum 2 to maximum 8 members over 8 legs)
- Half Marathon
- 10K (Run, Walk, or Virtual)
- 5K (Run, Walk, or Virtual)
- Family Fun Run/Walk (1k for children under 14, held on Saturday)
The 10k, Half Marathon, and Marathon feature certified routes, while the 5k is a flat course. All races are chip-timed. Participants receive a Legs for Literacy medal and a short-sleeve t-shirt, provided they register by July 31. The event weekend also includes a Race Expo located at the Crowne Plaza and a Family Fun Run starting from Riverfront Park the day before the main races.
