Event overview

The Llangollen 50k is a 50-kilometre mountain ultramarathon organised by OutFit Personal Fitness Ltd. The next edition is scheduled for 6 June 2026 and the start, finish and registration location is Llangollen Leisure Centre in Llangollen, Wales. Entry options listed include a standard entry price of £53.50 and an OutFit member entry price of £0.00.

Course and checkpoints

The route links two way-marked 15-mile linear paths on either side of the River Dee, with additional sections to make the full 50 km distance. The course includes almost 6,000 ft of ascent and reaches its high point on Moel Fferna at 2,071 ft. There are three checkpoints with feed stations at the following distances and locations:

  • 11 km - Bwlch y Groes
  • 23.8 km - Corwen Leisure Centre
  • 39 km - Ceiriog Forest

A 10-hour cut off is enforced and checkpoints will close in line with that limit.

Race support and kit

All participants receive a finish medal. The organiser requires specific kit because of the distance and terrain, including full body waterproof cover, hat and gloves, a buff, a map (provided by the organiser), at least 1 litre of water at the start, a fully charged mobile phone and a foil blanket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
